Syracuse is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Syracuse follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We arrived at the ER of the Upstate Community Hospital at 12:25p to a 1/2 full waiting room. My husband suffered a fall with possible concussion and a large bruise that had a gash in it on his arm with about 6-7 inches of peeled skin. Minimal blood as I had wrapped it with gauze to get him here.... we saw the triage nurse within 20 minutes, however a nurse taking his vitals did not come until approximately 5pm.... we are still sitting in the ER waiting room, as after sitting her over 4 hours his neuropathy has him with minimal pain (Thank God). It is now 6:17pm, AND HE STILL HAS SEEN NO DOCTOR. Nor has the standard vitals (taken every 2 hours) been taken again. If we leave after wasting over 6 hours here for medical assistance, we get charged by our insurance, but if we went to an urgent care with a concussion, THEY WOULD SEND US TO THE ER! How is this "care"? Many who came in after us have already left...

Rolled into the emergency room at 5 am & everybody was professional and courteous. If I am going through another medical issue again I would in fact come back here.

Staff were all pleasant, but the wait was insane. We waited 3.5hrs and made basically no progress. We ended up just leaving. Went to another ER the next day and it was WAY better. Just go somewhere else.

The nurses and techs on staff were great, I am however leaving a review of 2 stars for the doctor that dismissed our concerns as "Dehydration" Be better Dr Jay M Brenner, listen to your patients concerns. We were at and dismissed from Upstate Universitys Downtown ER not even 6 hours prior and were told to go back to the ER by my fiancee's Endorcrinologist who advised us she was going into DKA per the lab results from the prior ER. He didn't listen to our concerns and left us with the diagnosis of dehydration. He also offhandedly said she had an upper respiratory infection but offered no treatment plan besides "rest, liquids, tylenol and motrin" That infection turned out to be Bronchitis, and yes, we were sent by her Endo to a 3rd ER which confirmed she did indeed go through DKA Thanks for doing less than nothing Doctor Brenner

We arrived at the ER around 4:45 pm on 7/9. The visit was to bring my wife in, who was experiencing severe pain and swelling in the side of her face. Our hope was simply to obtain some medicine to reduce pain, as nothing previously was effective, and possibly an antibiotic for infection until the dentist would open the next day. When she finally got called for "triage" (that's what they call it.) They took her blood pressure twice, both times very high. Bottom number well over 100, top number 160 - 180. After 2 1/2 hours we left unseen due to her pain and discomfort. I have been in an ER with less severe conditions than others, and seen them go ahead of me. That is fine. That is what triage is supposed to be about. If Mash units ran triage the way the ER does there would have been a lot more dead soldiers. I expect in a doctors office to be seen in the order of arrival. It is time the ER gets honest enough to put up the real policy. YOUR CALL WILL BE ANSWERED IN THE ORDER IT WAS RECIEVED. 1 is the lowest there is for a rating. That is generous.
